With so many different types of bounce houses and inflatable devices available for purchase and rental, it can sometimes be hard to stand out amongst the rest. Bounce house designers and manufacturers work hard every day to create unique and different bounce houses that can both stand out in a product search and appeal to a wide audience. Some of the innovations that they come up with become so popular that they become in high demand in a matter of weeks. For the creators of these bouncers, it’s just another day on the job.

Sometimes, the design of the bounce house can stay in one’s memory for a very long time. An inflatable device with a complex design can spark a child’s imagination, allow them to explore a new, unique setting, and lets them bounce and leap around while doing so. Combo bouncers are a prime example of these complex new ideas, as they combine several different activities into the same inflatable, often only requiring the same amount of power as a standard bounce house. One of the best examples of a combo bouncer is the Misty Kingdom Amusement Park. The Misty Kingdom has numerous different play areas and devices for children to wile away the spring, summer, and fall days. Surrounding the castle-themed bounce house is an inflatable slide that can be hooked up to a hose and converted into a water slide for humid summer activity. In addition, two small, identical pools are located at the bottom of the bouncer and slide, which can be used as both ball pits or filled with water and be converted into miniature pools. This brings the final total to 5 different activities in the safe inflatable device: bouncy castle, slide, water slide, wading pool, and ball pit! Other examples of original bounce house designs like this include combo jumpers like the Dual Slide Inflatable Castle Combo Jumper, which includes a bounce zone and multiple slides in the same area as a normal inflatable bouncer.

Another form of inflatable device that is a great product of innovation are the gladiator and jousting inflatables. These arenas allow players to participate in pretend games and battles in a test of physical activity and exercise. Wearing protective pads and gear, also referred to as “armor”, gladiator users enter the inflatable arena. From there, depending on the rules, the players are free to bounce, jump, and leap around, usually trying to knock one another off the hill in the center of the arena. In some cases, the arenas come with “jousting sticks”, which are safe foam devices that fighters can push each other off the center with. Certain arenas also go down the “combination” route, like the similarly innovative combo bouncers, and allow for several different high-octane activities on the same inflatable base. This can be seen in inflatables like the Bungee And Joust Combo, which allows users to bounce about, joust with each other using foam equipment, or bungee-jump around the area, depending on the user’s preference.

As long as bounce house engineers and designers are working, you know that they putting all their minds together to create the ultimate inflatable creations. Only these geniuses know what innovations the future will bring. What new ideas will we be able to bounce in next? Only time will tell…
