If you, or your organization, decide to rent a bounce house for a major event this summer, you will need to find the right company to rent from. This will be a big decision; as you can see, there are a wide variety of rental companies to be found in every state. Whichever company you end up choosing will likely be sending a bounce house rental crew to assist you in setting up your inflatable device (or devices), in addition to supervising the event. There are several different people on a rental crew, all of which have their own unique skills and tasks to perform. All of these varied members of a rental crew work together to professionally perform each rental, delivery and set-up.

When your bounce house, and the people in charge of it, arrives at the scene of your party, you will likely first speak to the event manager. The event manager is typically in charge of the delivery crew (in some cases, they may even be the owner of the rental company). They are all friendly and knowledgeable people who know exactly how to set-up, wash and clean, take apart, repair, or attend to any other problems relating to bounce houses, water slides, obstacle courses, or any combination thereof. Get to know them, as they will stay for the entire event and act as the general “eye in the sky”, keeping close watch on all events to make sure the day goes smoothly.

Upon arrival, the bounce house is in the hands of the set-up crew. The set-up crew deliver your rented bounce house to the event grounds, set up the bounce house, stay for the duration of the party to maintain the bounce house, fix any problems that may occur, and then take down/disassemble the bounce house at the end of the day. Each member of the set-up crew is highly trained and knowledgeable in the field. They have the skills to find the best piece of land for setting up the bouncer and securing it to the ground. There are always multiple people on the crew, typically at least three.

Another important job on a rental crew is the inflatable attendant. Inflatable attendants may end up doubling as part of the set-up crew as well, but will generally be separate for larger events that require more people. They are responsible for enforcing the rules and guidelines of every bounce house and inflatable device. In addition, the attendants are in charge of the safety of all moonwalk users, in addition to the safety of the bounce house itself. Listen to what they say, as their advice may prevent damaging the bounce house or other such accidents. If the party is so enormous, and any attendants should require additional assistance with overseeing the events of the day, they may ask for assistance from any adults or chaperones present for the day’s events. This may include calming down rowdier users, or assisting younger users with entering and exiting the bounce house.

Although bounce house rental companies differ in details from location to location, the general constant is that all bounce house crews will have these same roles. All are highly important to a smooth day, and with the best men and women on the job, you won’t have to worry about your special day going bad.
